ZEEKR 001 FR Will Challenge Tesla Model S Plaid

Chinese automaker Zeekr, which is part of the Geely concern, is about to introduce its first luxury sports car, which promises to outdo the Tesla Model S Plaid.

The new ZEEKR can compete with the Tesla Model S Plaid both in terms of acceleration to 100 km / h and in the speed of passing the “northern loop” of the track at the Nurburgring. In the latter discipline, the Tesla Model S Plaid regularly competes with the Porsche Taycan electric sports car in a special modification, but in the first challenge this quarter, the Sapphire Edition of the Lucid Air luxury sedan is ready to throw. At least if Tesla Model S Plaid accelerates to 100 km / h in 1.99 seconds, then Lucid Air Sapphire expects to meet 1.89 seconds. If we return to the new version of ZEEKR 001, then in China the car will cost about $140,000.

This subsidiary of the Chinese automaker Geely has focused on the production of premium electric vehicles, sources familiar with its plans recently said that a ZEEKR 001 FR electric sports car capable of competing with the Tesla Model S Plaid will be presented within a few weeks. What exactly the new product will surpass the already held “industry standard” is not specified, but on the ZEEKR page in Elon Musk’s social network X, an image of the 001 FR sports liftback on the race track appeared.
