Haoti officially unveiled the Redmi Note 17 Pro smartphone in China. Its key features include a record-breaking 9000 mAh battery and an enhanced durability.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor. This is a similar 4nm chip with Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores (this time in a 4+4 configuration) and a more powerful Adreno 710 GPU. The smartphone offers 8 or 12 GB of RAM, as well as 128, 256, or 512 GB of storage (UFS 2.2 for the 128 GB variant and UFS 3.1 for the other two). There is no microSD card slot.
The rest of the Redmi Note 17 Pro’s specifications are similar to the base model. It features an optical fingerprint scanner, an IR blaster, Wi-Fi 5 (ac), Bluetooth 5.1 (AAC, LDAC), and NFC. The smartphone also has an ultrasonic proximity sensor. The base model has a single speaker, while the Pro version has two.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro offers significantly better water resistance than its predecessor, with an IP68 rating for submersion and IP66/IP69/IP69K for protection against jets of water. The screen is protected by high-quality Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and has passed drop tests from a height of 3 meters.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro features a 50-megapixel main camera with a tiny 1/2.76-inch sensor (0.64 µm pixel size) and an f/1.8 lens. There’s also a second camera on the back, but it’s only a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera is an 8-megapixel sensor. Both the rear and front cameras can only record video in 1080p at 30 fps.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro starts at 1,599 yuan (approximately $220) in China for the 8GB/128GB version. The 12GB/256GB model is priced at 2,199 yuan (approximately $305), while the 8GB/512GB version is priced at 2,299 yuan (approximately $320).
