‘Under the Waves’ – New Oceanic Adventure
Quantic Dream has released a new trailer for Under The Waves, an upcoming action-adventure adventure focused on ocean exploration. Experience a surreal adventure in the depths of the North Sea and the human psyche. Under the Waves is a narrative adventure game about the all-consuming power of a broken heart.
Under the Waves is about Sam, a diver who struggles to cope with a loss and ventures into the depths of the North Sea. The events take place in the techno-futurism of the 1970s. Players will have to descend into the depths of the sea in a submarine, descend into caves, look for various debris, make new equipment in order to continue exploring the marine world, meet the inhabitants of the sea and deal with their own “Me”.
The authors call Under the Waves “a surreal story-driven adventure about the all-consuming power of grief” and “a declaration of love to the oceans.” The events unfold in an alternate reality in 1979, in which “retro, science fiction and fantasy merge together.”
The developers promise to immerse players in “a beautiful underwater world that skillfully combines cinematic visuals and a poignant story.” Users will lead Stan “through a series of unpredictable events that will plunge him deeper and deeper into the abyss, which is a reflection of his own soul.”
You have to manage both the hero himself and his bathyscaphe. Players will explore “vast seabeds, caves, shipwrecks and retrofuturistic underwater structures”, collect items and materials, and craft gear.
