Ubisoft Postpones “Skull and Bones” Again and Cancels 3 Other Games
Last year was not very good for Ubisoft. The company today released an updated version of its financial forecasts for the 2023-2024 financial year. As it turns out, the French gaming giant’s earnings are below expectations, and Ubisoft is looking for ways to save money.
Skull and Bones was about to release again, and again there was a postponement. Skull and Bones was supposed to be released in March 2023. The game has now been moved to the beginning of the 2023-2024 fiscal year (begins April 1st). There are plans to conduct a beta test, but so far no date has been announced.
The company also confirmed that she had canceled three unannounced games, although she didn’t share any details about what those projects would be. This news caught the attention of Ubisoft investors, so some reassurances were made to the investors during the emergency call.
According to IGN, Ubisoft has told investors that there are still major games published by Ubisoft in the next fiscal year, such as Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones, and a yet-to-be-announced game. Unsurprisingly, Ubisoft hasn’t shared any specific details about the unannounced games it has in development, although it has said one of the titles is “large”, suggesting it will be one of the company’s big-budget AAA releases. It’s entirely possible that this will be a new game in one of Ubisoft’s famous and popular franchises, though again, no concrete details are available at this time.
