Tesla Increased Greenhouse Gas Emissions By 20% Last Year

Tesla’s greenhouse gas emissions rose 20% last year. According to the company’s latest impact report, Tesla is responsible for more than 50 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions, representing a roughly 20% increase in pollution from the previous year.

Tesla says it is committed to making the transition to renewable energy, and its electric vehicles helped prevent 20 million tons of CO2 emissions last year.

Tesla’s network of charging stations is by far the largest in the world. According to information on the company’s website, in 2023, 100% of the energy in its charging network was obtained from renewable energy sources, and the uptime (time of continuous operation) of the network was an impressive 99.97%.

Tesla has acknowledged problems with rising greenhouse gas emissions and said more investment may be needed to meet new rules to reduce pollution.
