The Steam digital store has experienced a major outage. According to Steamstat, several major servers have become unavailable.
Before the connection issues, the platform’s online presence was over 35.2 million. Afterward, the number dropped sharply to 7 million users. According to the service, errors are occurring on servers in Helsinki, Falkenstein, Chengdu, Beijing, Guangdong, and other locations. Servers in Paris, Chicago, Santiago, Buenos Aires, and other locations have also experienced increased load.
Most frequently, users complain about being unable to log into their accounts, download games, or download updates. Many experience problems logging into games, syncing saves, chatting, and other issues. The worst problems are with online games like Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, StarCraft 2, PUBG, and others—gamers are simply unable to connect to game servers.
The exact cause of the errors is unknown. It is believed that server access issues may have arisen due to issues on Cloudflare’s part.
