Samsung Shows The Concept Of The Cling Band Wrist Smartphone
Samsung showed at MWC 2024 the concept of a flexible smartphone that can be worn on the wrist like a bracelet. The smartphone in a thin body is equipped with a flexible OLED screen and a folding mechanism in the middle. It can be secured to your hand using a rope strap.
Samsung has extensive experience in producing phones, smartwatches and fitness bracelets, and in the Cling Band project, the manufacturer tried to combine the strengths of all these devices. In all-in-one mode, the gadget looks like a regular phone, which has a series of protrusions on the back cover. The device looks somewhat rougher than a similar concept that Motorola presented at the same exhibition in Barcelona. In practice, the curved display turned out to be far from ideal – in some places the folds of the flexible body could be felt, and an attempt to scroll through content sometimes led to its scaling. But the Samsung Cling Band looks amazing and perhaps flexible wrist smartphones could become a more popular category of fashion gadgets than smart rings, glasses and watches.
In addition to the flexible smartphone, Samsung presented several other projects, including Flex Magic Pixel technology, which allows you to adjust the viewing angle of the display so that no one can see into the screen
