Samsung Introduces Galaxy Ring For $400

In January of this year, Samsung announced a new gadget for itself – the Galaxy Ring smart ring. At the Unpacked event, the South Korean giant fully presented this accessory, revealing all the functions of the device and naming its price.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring turned out to be perhaps the most impressive gadget at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The culmination of the company’s years of research and development into health and activity tracking, the smart ring promises to set a new trend in the health monitoring market. The gadget is available in black, silver and gold colors in a class 5 titanium alloy case; the gadget is available in American sizes from 5 to 13 (corresponding to Russian sizes from 15.75 to 22). All health tracking sensors, batteries and charging contacts are on the inner surface, hidden under a layer of epoxy resin.

The manufacturer claims water resistance of 10 ATM, as well as protection against water and dust according to the IP68 standard. The ring comes with a transparent charging case with LED lighting. With it, Galaxy Ring can work up to 7 days, a full charge takes about 80 minutes. The autonomy of the ring is affected by the size of the ring; the larger it is, the longer the gadget works.

The Galaxy Ring is focused on health monitoring with sensors that measure heart rate, skin temperature and sleep monitoring. The ring also has smart features such as assessing energy levels, providing personalized health recommendations, menstrual cycle tracking, irregular heart rate alerts, and automatic workout detection.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring has a suggested retail price of $399.99 and can be pre-ordered today and goes on sale July 24.
