Samsung Introduced The News App “News”
Samsung is replacing its free app on Galaxy devices with a more targeted one. The company is launching a beta version of a news app that, like its Apple counterpart, focuses on top headlines as well as custom feeds. However, you can also listen to podcasts.
The application is very similar to Apple News in its interface. The main page of the application contains the main news, and at the bottom of the page you can navigate between the tabs “News”, “Podcasts” and “Subscriptions”. Samsung News is rolling out to Samsung Galaxy users in the US as an update to Samsung Free starting today. Users who already have the Samsung Free app installed will see the icon change to Samsung News. The new app is available on the Samsung Galaxy Store.
Samsung plans to develop a new application, including by increasing the number of news resources. “The Samsung News app was designed to deliver the latest and most important news to Galaxy users in an easy-to-access format,” said Avner Ronen, vice president of product development at Samsung Electronics. “We want to empower consumers by letting them manage your ideal news consumption experience with just one touch.”
