Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Lineup Unveiled

Today, Samsung finally announced the Galaxy Watch 5 series. As many of you already know, the new lineup consists of the standard Galaxy Watch 5 variant, available in two sizes, and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Here’s how much they cost and when you can expect them to hit the market.

The Galaxy Watch 5 features a sapphire crystal on the front that is 1.6 times stronger than the glass on the Galaxy Watch 4 series. It runs on Google Wear OS (One UI Watch 4.5) with Google Assistant, Google Maps and YouTube Music. Case of all models with protection 5 ATM, IP68 and MIL-STD-810H.  Built-in GPS, NFC contactless payments, Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi support included.

The Watch 5 battery is larger than the last generation: 284mAh. This should provide up to 50 hours of battery life. Also in the new series, the charging speed has been increased – the battery can be charged up to 45 percent in 30 minutes.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is a more advanced and more interesting premium model that is nothing like last year’s Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The watch does not have a rotating bezel and is not so massive, but it received a durable titanium case and a sapphire crystal that protects the display.  What’s more, the gadget is MIL-STD-810H certified, IP68 certified and 5ATM water resistant. Complementing the look is a D-Buckle sports strap, which is more durable than silicone.

The watch is available in a single version – 45 mm.  They received a 1.4-inch AMOLED display, Exynos W920 processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of ROM, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), GPS and NFC. A 590 mAh battery is installed inside, one charge of which should be enough for 80 hours of normal work or 20 hours of continuous use of GPS. Supports fast charging – from 0% to 45% in 30 minutes.

The device can measure ECG, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, analyze body composition, etc., but most importantly, the manufacturer has added a new sensor for measuring body temperature and improved the BioActive sensor for tracking sleep.
