Razer announced the Barracuda and Barracuda PRO headsets – Peripherals news
Razer just announced their new additions to the Barracuda line – Barracuda and Barracuda Pro.
The Barracuda headset line is stealthy looking, made out of plastic and it comes at a steep price, but is it worth paying the $249,99 for the Pro and $159.99 for the regular version?
As one of the focus points of the Barracuda headsets is the wireless connectivity with low latency, Razer relies on wireless connection via a USB-C dongle with an additional Bluetooth connectivity option, so you can use them with PC, laptops, consoles, and even your smartphone via Bluetooth.
Both headsets feature 50mm drivers which are a bump-up compared to last year’s Barracuda X that rocked 40mm ones and instead of a detachable mic, the new model comes with beamforming mics for that sweet sweet noise cancelation. Also, you have the option to connect to two devices at once, thanks to the SmartSwitch Dual Wireless feature.
Nonetheless, we will try to get a hand on the new headset and see if the improvement is worth the money as now the new 50mm drivers are supposed to deliver better, louder, and richer sound, compared to the 40mm predecessor.
