Picsart’s New AI GIF Generator

Picsart has announced a new GIF generator that creates original short animations from simple cues or phrases.

Using it is simple: click “Create with AI”, enter a text query and select the appropriate tags that describe the style and quality of detail you want. Next, click Generate GIF and wait a bit.

Users can access the platform on Android or iOS mobile devices, as well as desktop computers through a browser via the Picsart website.

The platform works best with simple prompts, as more complex ones often result in the AI ignoring or not logging parts of the request. Given the right phrases, the results can be interesting.

This feature appears to be based on the Text2Video-Zero model that the Picsart developers described and released to GitHub in the spring. It allows you to generate video based on a text query, preserving the context of the scene and the appearance of the object.  In other words, if you generate a kitten in a meadow, then on all frames of the sequence it will be the same color and size, like the background. The current version shows that the neural network does not always cope with preserving the context: in the example below, you can see how the buildings change from frame to frame, although the general outlines are preserved.

Now GIF generation is available in Picsart completely free of charge and with no limit on the number of attempts.
