OpenAI Starts Testing GPT-5
The implementation of the new GPT-5 language model in the work of OpenAI enterprise clients has already begun.
OpenAI plans to release the GPT-5 model sometime in mid-2024, likely in the summer, Business Insider reports, citing its own sources. Some enterprise customers have already received demos of the next generation model and its associated ChatGPT features. “It’s really good, even significantly better,” commented one of the heads of companies who tried GPT-5. OpenAI showed how the model works with scenarios for its use and data unique to its company. The developer also mentioned other, not yet implemented, features of the model, including the ability to call AI agents to perform tasks autonomously. A release date for GPT-5 has not yet been scheduled.
While the company continues to train the AI, it will then undergo safety tests: answer leading questions, undergo toxicity tests, and so on.
There is no exact release date. The company may still change plans for the release of ChatGPT 5.
