The Phone (2) is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 platform, which is a significant improvement over the mid-range Snapdragon 778G+ chip used in the previous model.
The new smartphone is complemented by 8 or 12 GB of RAM and offers internal storage options of 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB.
The Phone (2) packs a 4,700mAh battery that supports 33W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging.
The camera system has also undergone significant improvements. The Phone’s main camera (2) uses a 50MP Sony IMX890 image sensor with 1-micron pixels. It is accompanied by optics with an aperture of ƒ/1.88. The main camera of the device is a wide-angle lens with a Samsung JN1 sensor with a resolution of 50 MP, a viewing angle of 114 degrees and an aperture of ƒ/2.2.
Phone (2) has a larger and brighter display compared to its predecessor – a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED screen with a resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels. The typical brightness of the display is 1000 cd/m2, and the peak brightness is up to 1600 cd/m2. Users can dynamically adjust the frequency of the display from 1 Hz to 120 Hz, and the touch layer operates at a frequency of 240 Hz.
The smartphone uses Corning Gorilla Glass, which also protects the rounded edges of the back.
Nothing now reportedly has a much larger software development team that includes several veterans from OnePlus.
