Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new all-electric Mercedes-AMG GT SUV, bringing its high-performance sports car philosophy into the premium electric SUV segment. The model combines the practicality of a full-size SUV with advanced electric drivetrain technology developed specifically for Mercedes-AMG.
High-Performance Electric Technology
Built on the AMG.EA high-performance electric architecture, the new AMG GT SUV features three axial-flux electric motors and an advanced 800-volt battery system. The technology is designed to deliver strong acceleration, consistent performance under demanding driving conditions, and improved charging efficiency.
Mercedes-AMG has also introduced directly cooled cylindrical battery cells, a system intended to manage heat during intensive driving and repeated high-power acceleration. The setup reflects the company’s broader effort to bring motorsport-inspired engineering into its next generation of electric vehicles.

Fast Charging and Everyday Practicality
Charging performance is another major focus. Mercedes-Benz says the new electric AMG GT SUV can add up to 450 kilometres of WLTP driving range in approximately 10 minutes under suitable conditions, with charging power reaching up to 710 kW.
The SUV also features AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL+ suspension technology and an active aerodynamic system designed to balance handling, stability, and efficiency. These features aim to make the vehicle suitable for both spirited driving and everyday use.

Pricing and Availability
The Mercedes-AMG GT 53 SUV is priced from €113,050 in Germany, while the more powerful GT 55 and GT 63 versions are scheduled to follow in spring 2027. Further specifications and market-specific details will depend on the version and region.
With the electric AMG GT SUV, Mercedes-Benz is expanding its performance EV strategy beyond traditional sports cars. Its combination of high-output electric motors, ultra-fast charging technology, and SUV practicality positions it as a notable new contender in the luxury electric vehicle market.
