Honda To Launch 10 New Electric Motorcycle Models By 2025

Honda has announced plans to release ten new electric motorcycle models by the end of 2025. The Japanese company is the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer with total sales of more than 400 million units during its operation.

Kouhei Takeuchi, executive vice president of the corporation, said at a press conference that the impact of motorcycles on achieving carbon neutrality is significantly different from conventional four-wheeled vehicles.  “But we will push electrification to keep our position as the leading manufacturer,” he added.

It is expected that the company will sell about a million such devices over the next five years, and by 2030 Honda intends to increase this figure to 3.5 million per year. This corresponds to approximately 15% of total sales.

The company’s plan is to achieve a fully carbon-neutral motorcycle fleet in the 2040s.  According to the corporation, it will be able to achieve a positive effect for the environment if it transfers all of its motorcycles to electric motors and engines running on vegetable ethanol.
