Google Refuses To Repair Broken Pixel Watch

Owners of wearable devices express their dissatisfaction on social networks and on Google support forums. In one official chat, a service representative confirms that Google “does not have repair or service centers” for the smartwatch.

Google’s device warranty states that it does not cover “damage caused by wear and tear, accidents, misuse, disassembly, service by non-Google-authorized technicians, and external causes.”

We currently do not have the ability to repair Google Pixel Watch. If your watch is damaged, you can contact Google Pixel Watch customer support for replacement options,” a company spokesperson confirmed. The device is sold with a warranty that covers repairs in the event of damage by the consumer alone – no extended warranty is provided.

Previously, iFixit experts disassembled the Pixel Watch and found that although access to the screen is difficult, replacing it is technically possible. The company’s technicians have even compiled detailed instructions for installing a new screen, but it’s unclear where to get it since Google doesn’t supply them separately. Pixel Watch is not particularly durable: cases of cracks are known, even when the watch did not fall or hit a hard surface.
