Google Changed Its Mind About Selling An Unpopular Google Glass

Google has announced the end of sales of Glass Enterprise Edition 2 augmented reality glasses.

Starting March 15, 2023, Google will stop all sales of Glass Enterprise Edition 2. Support for already released devices will last until September 15. Google has warned that it does not plan to release any software updates for the gadget. This also applies to the Meet on Glass application pre-installed on AR glasses – its support will last until the fall, and then it may stop working altogether, according to the company.

After the commercial failure of the original Google Glass, the company decided to focus only on the business sector. The line, dubbed the Glass Enterprise Edition, was marketed as an assistant gadget for enterprise employees, allowing them to work in “hands-free” mode.

Google does not disclose the reasons for the stop in sales, but most likely it lies in low demand and poor financial performance.
