Fossil Unveils Gen 6 Wellness Edition Smartwatch Powered By Latest Wear OS 3
Fossil is expected to launch its first Wear OS 3-powered smartwatch as early as next week, the US-based company recently announced. The Gen 6 Wellness edition will go on sale on October 17, along with the long-awaited Wear OS 3 update for some users.
This is the first Fossil smartwatch to receive the latest operating system from Google. Thanks to this, the device boasts support for YouTube Music, Spotify and Facer services, while the ability to use Google’s voice assistant is not available here.
In terms of hardware, no major changes have occurred – the manufacturer in the Gen 6 Wellness Edition uses the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100+ processor. True, the performance and functions of the chip are enough to build smartwatches based on this platform for another five years, so this is not a problem. The rest of the characteristics of the new version of the smart watch have not changed either – the same diagonal OLED display is used here. 1.28 inches with support for Always-On Display technology, there is 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory for storing content, the case size is still the same 44 mm.
The basic Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition comes in three colors: black, silver and rose gold.
