Blizzard Reveals When PvE Story Missions Will Appear In Overwatch 2
Blizzard has effectively canceled Overwatch 2’s co-op PvE campaign mode, which was first shown at BlizzCon 2019. When Overwatch 2 was first released to the public, one of the game’s biggest selling points was the campaign’s co-op mode. After the initial announcement, very little of the game mode was shown, and then Overwatch 2 went into early access with a strict focus on PvP, which understandably left fans very worried about the future of the campaign mode.
The first PvE story missions will appear in Overwatch 2 in the sixth season, which is scheduled to begin in August 2023, according to the released roadmap.
In the sixth game, for the first time, story PvE missions will appear in the game, which the developers initially promised to add at the release of Overwatch 2 – this will not be a full-fledged standalone mode. In addition, a new support hero, map, and character mastery system will be added in the sixth season. Later in the game there will also be a new tank, a collaboration event with another brand, a rework of Roadhog and Sombra, a new CGI cinematic, and much more.
