Atari Acquires Aights To 100 Retro PC And Console Games From The 80s And 90s
The company decided to keep its legacy alive by purchasing the rights to many classic franchises. Atari has announced the acquisition of over 100 retro PC and console games from the 1980s and 1990s.
The purchase includes games such as the Demolition Racer, Bubsy and Hardball series, as well as the addition of the Accolade brand itself to the Atari collection.
Wade Rosen, CEO of Atari, said that many of these games are part of Atari’s history, and fans can expect them to be re-released in physical and digital formats, and even ported to modern consoles.
It is possible that the company will be able to re-release existing games on modern consoles and create new adaptations of past products. And with any luck, the company will return to the gaming industry, a legendary figure in which it was previously.
