Apple Is Working On A Cheaper Version Of The AR/VR Headset
The company has reportedly delayed the launch of its first AR glasses due to technical issues and is currently working on an affordable version of the AR/VR headset, which is expected to come ahead of the premium mixed reality headset in 2025.
According to a report by The Independent, Apple engineers are working on a cheaper version of the device to help more people experience mixed reality technology.
The company’s engineers plan to use more affordable components to keep the price down. However, this headset will have the same overall functionality as the accessory released in 2023. In terms of power, a budget device will be comparable to an iPhone, and more expensive model will be comparable to Mac. Apple could also use lower resolution internal displays and cheaper materials.
First of all, the company plans to present its first headset at a higher price, all in order to see how much people are willing to pay for such a device.
