Amazon Returns Its Employees To The Office In May
Three years after the COVID-19 pandemic forced companies to send employees home, Amazon said Friday it plans to require employees to be in the office at least three days a week starting May 1.
In a company blog post addressing staff, Amazon CEO Andy Jassi said the move to in-person work makes it easier to collaborate, learn, and build company culture.
“I am also optimistic that this shift will provide momentum to the thousands of businesses located around our city headquarters in Puget Sound, Virginia, Nashville and the dozens of cities around the world where our employees go to the office.” he wrote.
The mode of remote work in the e-commerce giant was in effect for almost a year and a half .In October 2021, Amazon said it would allow individual teams to decide how many days per week corporate employees should work away from the office.
