A New Sid Meier’s Civilization Is In Development
Firaxis has officially announced that the next main game in the Sid Meier’s Civilization series is in development. Ed Beach, lead designer for the franchise, will continue as creative director for the new game.
It’s worth noting that Beach has been working on the Sid Meier’s Civilization series for over 15 years. At what stage of production is the new game, not reported. The name of the project is also not disclosed, so it is inappropriate to call it the seventh part.
Civilization 6 was first released in October 2016, after which it was ported to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch consoles, as well as mobile devices running iOS and Android. The game was awarded the “Best Strategy” award at The Game Awards 2016.
Civilization 6 has received several major updates with new scenarios, civilizations, and mechanics.
