Meta has launched a new subscription service, Meta One, which combines paid features for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp with expanded access to Meta AI tools. The company offers several plans tailored to general users, content creators, and businesses, while the core features of the social networks and the AI assistant will remain free.
There are two plans: Core at $7.99 per month and Premium at $19.99. Both include Facebook Plus, Instagram Plus, and WhatsApp Plus features. The key advantage of these plans is expanded AI functionality, with Premium offering more capabilities than Core. With the new subscription, users can utilize tools like Muse Image and Muse Video to create photos and videos, edit Instagram Stories using the AI-powered Restyle feature, and make greater use of voice effects and other tools. Other plans are available for businesses and creators: Essential (starting at $14.99), Advanced (starting at $49.99), Expert (starting at $149), and Max (starting at $499). For instance, Essential provides users with expanded access to the Meta Business Agent, a verified badge, a channel within the WhatsApp Business app, and other benefits. Meta plans to add more features in the future to assist with tasks such as marketing, business operations, and content creation and optimization.
New subscriptions have marked a significant expansion of Meta’s paid-service strategy. The company had already tested “Meta One” packages alongside resource-intensive AI features, specifically image and video generation.
It remains unclear exactly to what extent AI tools are driving users to sign up for subscriptions. However, Meta has reported some interest in its initial paid offerings.
