Redmi unveiled the new budget smartphone, the Redmi Note 17, whose key features include a gigantic 7-inch OLED screen and an 8,000 mAh battery. According to the company, the device can last up to 2.3 days without recharging under normal use.
The Redmi Note 17 features a 120Hz OLED panel with a resolution of 2396 × 1080 pixels and a peak brightness of 1800 cd/m². The touchscreen works even with wet hands or gloves. In addition to the large display, the smartphone is equipped with an 8000 mAh battery. The manufacturer claims it provides up to 22 hours of short video playback or up to 10 hours of use in navigation mode. The battery has an energy density of 821 Wh/L and is rated for 1,600 charge cycles.

The battery supports 45W charging and 22.5W reverse charging, allowing the device to be used as a power bank. The Redmi Note 17 has an IP65 rating, so it only offers basic water resistance—it won’t survive submersion (for that, it’s best to opt for the Pro version). The device’s screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.

The Redmi Note 17 is powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor with two Cortex-A78 and six Cortex-A55 cores, as well as an Adreno 613 GPU. The smartphone will be available with 6GB and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The device supports microSD cards for those who need more storage.

The Redmi Note 17 is available in black, light turquoise, and purple. Prices start at 1,299 yuan (approximately $180) for the 6GB/128GB version, 1,399 yuan (approximately $195) for the 8GB/128GB version, and 1,599 yuan (approximately $223) for the 8GB/256GB model.
