Nothing unveiled the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro smartphones, new mid-range models featuring updated displays, new Qualcomm chips, and improved cameras with a periscope module. The new models differ in design, specifications, and, consequently, price.

The entry-level model retains Nothing’s signature transparent design, but features a new Glyph Bar lighting system on the back panel. It’s now a strip of seven squares housing 63 high-brightness mini-LEDs. The Glyph Bar can act as a progress indicator and, like previous Glyph interfaces, offers various lighting effects and animations for notifications and calls.

The Northing Phone (4a) Pro, meanwhile, has largely lost its signature transparent design, retaining it only in the camera module. However, the flagship model also features the Glyph Matrix pixel display, which debuted last year in the flagship Phone (3).

The rear camera includes a 50 MP main sensor with a 1/1.56″ sensor, a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x zoom, and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens. Depending on the market, the smartphone starts at $500, €480, or 40,000 rupees.
