Huawei officially announced the new Nova Flip S foldable smartphone in China—a successor to the Nova Flip, but at a significantly reduced price. While its predecessor cost around 5,288 yuan (approximately $740), the Nova Flip S starts at 3,488 yuan (approximately $490), making it Huawei’s most affordable foldable device.
The Huawei Nova Flip S’s outer display remains square, measuring 2.14 inches diagonally and featuring a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels. It supports cute animal themes, custom wallpapers, and interactive call screens. Apps can be pinned to the outer display for quick access, such as a weather widget, schedule, or QR code payment. The “live window” feature allows it to display real-time information, such as flight information or food delivery status.
The 6.9-inch LTPO internal display offers a resolution of 2698 x 1136 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz. The Huawei Nova Flip S’s hinge mechanism minimizes display deformation and ensures a long lifespan—it’s certified by the Swiss SGS and can withstand up to 1.2 million folds. The 4400 mAh battery supports 66 W fast charging. A fingerprint scanner is located on the side panel, and the case is splash-resistant.

The Huawei Nova Flip S’s main camera consists of a 50-megapixel main module and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide module. There’s also a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone runs HarmonyOS 5.1.
