2023 Oscar Winners Announced

At the 95th Oscar ceremony, which took place on the night of March 13 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, a statuette was awarded for the best foreign language film. The award went to Netflix’s All Quiet on the Western Front.

This film surpassed such films as “Close”, “Argentina, 1985” and others. It also won an Oscar for Best Cinematography and Best Original Score.

The leader in the number of statuettes this year is the hooligan action movie “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once” (seven awards out of eleven nominations, including best film).

All Quiet on the Western Front took second place in terms of the number of statuettes, out of nine nominations, it received four awards. “Banshee Inisherina” by Martin McDonagh also claimed awards in nine categories, but ended up without statuettes, like Steven Spielberg’s film “Fabelmans”.

In total, A24 studio projects received nine statuettes during that night. Academics also appreciated Darren Aronofsky’s drama The Whale, also produced by A24. Netflix has six statuettes: four for All Quiet on the Western Front, including Best Foreign Film, fifth for the animation Pinocchio Guillermo del Toro, and sixth for the short documentary The Elephant Whisperers.
