At MWC 2026 in Barcelona, Vivo unveiled its flagship smartphone, the X300 Ultra. This is notable because it will be the first model in the Ultra series to be sold not only in China but also internationally. Along with the smartphone, Vivo also unveiled an updated telephoto lens and a professional camera cage.

This is a fairly large solution with a fixed focal length of 400mm, developed with support from Zeiss. A teleconverter, when connected to a smartphone, provides 17x optical zoom. By cropping the image to fit within the sensor, the zoom range can be extended to 30x.

According to available information, the main camera of the new Vivo phone will be based on a 200-megapixel Sony LYT-901 sensor with a 1/1.12-inch optical format. The device is also expected to feature a 200-megapixel telephoto lens based on an ISOCELL HPB sensor and an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-828 sensor.

The global launch of the X300 Ultra is planned for the second half of this year. However, the company hasn’t specified the geographic distribution: the US market will almost certainly remain unavailable, and Vivo’s European presence, as The Verge reports, is traditionally sporadic, creating uncertainty for buyers in that region.
