Vivo S20 and S20 Pro Smartphones Debut with Price Starting From $317

Vivo has unveiled the S20 and S20 Pro smartphones in China. The new models offer bright displays, albeit not flagship ones, but very powerful hardware platforms, as well as advanced camera sets, especially in the case of the older model with the Pro prefix in the name.

The new products received 6.67-inch AMOLED displays with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, 50-megapixel front cameras, and powerful batteries with support for 90 W fast charging. The S20 features a flat screen and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, while the S20 Pro boasts a curved display and a more powerful Dimensity 9300+ chip.

Both models feature 6.67-inch BOE Q10 AMOLED displays with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screens support HDR10+ technology, high-frequency PWM brightness control of 3840Hz (2160Hz for the Pro version) and a peak brightness of up to 4500 nits. The S20 has a flat screen, and the S20 Pro has a curved one. The body of the new models is decorated with exquisite finishing options: “Golden Phoenix Feather”, “Violet Air from the East”, “White Jasper Dew” and “Pine Smoke Ink”. Each boasts a unique texture achieved through photolithography and artistic embroidery techniques.

The S20 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, inherited from the previous model, while the S20 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+, which is a step up from the Dimensity 9200+. An AnTuTu score of up to 2.25 million points is claimed.

The Vivo S20 model received a 6,500 mAh battery with support for 80 W fast charging. The Vivo S20 Pro is equipped with a 5,500 mAh battery with support for 90 W fast charging.

Both smartphones have IP64 dust and water protection.

The smartphones are available for pre-order in China from today, with retail sales of the Vivo S20 model starting on December 6, and the Vivo S20 Pro on December 12 at the following prices:

• Vivo S20 12/512GB – 2,799 yuan ($386);
