Ubisoft Suffered Another Hack
The famous French video game developer and publisher Ubisoft has confirmed the fact of a cyber attack, which led to temporary disruptions in the operation of their games, systems and services.
Last Thursday, some hackers told vx-underground that they had access to Ubisoft systems for “approximately 48 hours” – then the company realized that something was wrong and denied the hackers access. Cybercriminals intended to steal approximately 900 GB of data, but did not have time. They did not say how they gained access, but they were able to examine the access rights of various users, as well as access corporate systems Microsoft Teams, Confluence and SharePoint. To confirm the incident, screenshots of Microsoft Teams accounts and other pieces of infrastructure provided by hackers were published.
Ubisoft said they are investigating a suspected data security incident after security research group VX-Underground shared screenshots of what appear to be internal company services.
