The New Skate Is A Free-To-Play Microtransaction Game
It’s been a little over two years since we learned that EA has been working on the first entry in the Skate series since 2010’s Skate 3. While the publisher isn’t quite ready to announce a release date yet, it has revealed some more details, including the fact that the game is simply called Skate.
EA’s new Skate will be a shareware game-service, according to The Verge, citing developers from Full Circle. The game will also feature crossplay and cross-progress between platforms.
The project will be called skate. and it will feature an ever-evolving content world with a focus on user-generated content. The developers talked about CollaboZones, which are areas that can be created jointly by several players and available to other people.
There will be microtransactions in the game, but they will primarily be associated with cosmetic items. The developers promise not to give paid players benefits.
The new Skate will be available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC with cross play and cross progress. The developers are also considering the possibility of creating a mobile version. The release date has not yet been announced.
