Half-Life 2 Is Now In VR

On September 16, a mod for the second part of Half-Life 2004 was released on the Steam platform. It brings the iconic world created by Valve to virtual reality. In two days, the brainchild of the Source VR Mod Team was evaluated by more than 1000 gamers.

Various VR mechanics have been implemented in the mod, including mechanics from the official Half-Life VR game titled Half-Life: Alyx.  Physical interaction with objects, sight through the front sight, display of the protagonist’s hands and the ability to get cartridges, so to speak, from behind the shoulder are taken from it.

You can download the Half-Life 2: VR mod for free, but you will need the original game in your Steam library to run it. The mod works with any VR headset that is compatible with SteamVR.

In the future, the developers from the Source VR Mod Team plan to bring the first and second episodes of Half-Life 2 into virtual reality. They will start creating modifications after the release of Half-Life 2: VR and fixing key bugs that will be reported by users.
