Sweden Hosted A Doom Lawn Mower Tournament

Visitors to the DreamHack Winter 2023 exhibition in Sweden took part in Doom competitions on lawnmowers. The tournament was broadcast on Twitch.

We are talking about AM 430X NERA robotic lawn mowers worth €3,800 with a high-resolution color display. Husqvarna’s collaboration with Bethesda marks the 30th anniversary of the Doom series.

The selection wheel in Doom is responsible for turning the camera and shooting, while one button is dedicated to moving forward and to the side. There’s no way to change weapons on the fly in this version, but that’s the price of playing on a lawnmower.

Porting Doom to non-gaming devices is a popular pastime among gamers. As IGN wrote, the shooter has already been launched on an ATM, a calculator, a treadmill, a camera and a pregnancy test.
