Retro First-Person Shooter Selaco Released In Early Access On Steam

After a long period of development, Selaco is finally available in Early Access on Steam. It’s a retro shooter developed on the DOOM engine (GZDoom to be exact) and uses it in a way that is unrecognizable. It’s so impressive that even DOOM co-creator John Romero liked it, calling it “great” in a Reddit post.

According to the developers, Selaco is most inspired by the F.E.A.R. series. (in terms of action scenes), and also includes elements from retro shooters like Quake and classic Doom, on the modernized engine of which (GZDoom) it is built.

The plot of Selaco tells of a brutal invasion of the eponymous underground shelter for survivors of the collapse of the Earth. Players take on the role of Dawn, the captain of the local security force, to get to the bottom of the truth about Selaco.

In the meantime, the first user reviews have appeared, of which there are still a little more than two hundred, but almost all of them are positive (93%). In short, so far the prospects for success are very good, also taking into account that we are not talking about a huge production.
