Snapchat To Feature Ads On My AI Powered By ChatGPT

As Snap revealed at a NewFronts event earlier today, Conversations with My AI will contain sponsored links or advertisements that are currently in an experimental state for users to view. This means users won’t be bothered by pop-ups or banner ads that restrict their view of the screen, making them a minimal addition to a chatbot.

Deleting My AI or even just unpinning a chat thread is a perk that only Snapchat+ subscribers enjoy. My AI will not be filled with banner ads. Snap announced an experimental sponsored link ad format during today’s NewFronts promotional event.

ChatGPT differs from search results in that it presents conversational answers to questions rather than a ranked list of website links. The format has been praised for its lack of ads for monetization, where Google search results can be hidden under sponsored results.

Snap brings another experiment to full rollout.  Snap launches Spotlight ads globally after a limited test run in 2022. Spotlight is an alternative feature of TikTok short video inside Snapchat.

Since My AI is Snapchat’s latest and most valuable technology, the company is looking for additional ways to make it interactive and get more users to use AI.
