Meta Platforms has released a software update for its AI-powered smart glasses, which it co-brands with Ray-Ban and Oakley. New features include voice enhancement in noisy environments and Spotify integration, which allows users to find tracks that match what they’re currently looking at.

Conversation Focus is designed to improve voice intelligibility in noisy environments. It enhances surrounding voices, making them more distinct compared to background noise. It can be activated by saying “Hey Meta, start Conversation Focus” or by pressing and holding the button.

Meta is also adding Spotify integration, which uses multimodal artificial intelligence. Users can say, “Hey Meta, play a song to match this view,” and the glasses will launch a playlist based on what they’re seeing, taking into account their individual musical preferences. For example, if a user is looking at holiday decorations, the system might play a playlist of themed songs.

Meta announced the “Focus on Conversation” feature at the Connect conference earlier this year. Now, the feature is rolling out in early access to Ray-Ban and Oakley smartglasses users in the US and Canada.
