Long-Awaited Third-Person Mod Released For Metal Gear Solid 2 

Modder with the nickname oct0xor in honor of the 20th anniversary of the cult Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance decided to add a third-person camera to the game. In the video, he has already shown how the project works in this mode.

You can download the mod for free on GitHub.  For the game, oct0xor created a universal bootloader that simplifies its installation.

To add the camera from the Metal Gear Solid 3 re-release to the game, oct0xor had to reverse-engineer and re-write and add many lines of code in the game engine. In addition to the third person camera, the mod will also update the gamepad controls (whether it will do the same with the keyboard and mouse controls is unknown) and add the ability to switch between the original top view and third person camera on the go.

To play with this mod, the player will need to have Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance installed on their computer.
