Instagram Allows Users To Download Reels
Instagram developers have updated the Reels section – now other people’s short videos can be downloaded to your smartphone without any third-party services. Previously, this feature only worked for US residents.
Instagram adds a watermark with the account name to downloaded Reels videos, similar to how it works when downloading videos on TikTok. To download the video, just click the “Share” button and select the download option. Account owners also have the opportunity to prohibit the downloading of their Reels – a corresponding option has appeared in the settings, and it applies immediately to all short videos of the account. Additionally, when a user downloads a video that uses licensed audio, the downloaded video will have no sound. When downloading, only videos with original audio tracks will retain sound. In June, the ability to download Reels became available to users in the United States, and now the feature has become available to users around the world.
The Instagram update is rolling out gradually, so not everyone has the ability to download Reels yet. Usually it takes a couple of days.
