Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) said the breach had caused “significant disruption” to its retail and manufacturing operations. JLR, which is owned by India’s Tata Motors, was forced to shut down its information systems. “We are currently working on a controlled restart of our global applications,” JLR said on its website. A company spokesman said there was no evidence of any personal data being stolen.

The company’s website states that JLR is currently “working to restore global applications in a controlled manner.” At the same time, the company emphasizes that there is no evidence of a leak of customer data.

The cyberattack has become another challenge for JLR after the manufacturer was hit by increased tariffs in the United States. Earlier, the company temporarily suspended car deliveries to the American market after President Donald Trump introduced an increased duty on imported cars from Britain. The new conditions allow exporting 100 thousand cars at a rate of 10%, which is significantly higher than the previous 2.5%.

The incident coincided with an important date for the British car market – September 1, when dealers have new registration plates “75”, denoting the year 2025. New plates usually increase car sales.

Amid these challenges, Tata Motors is tightening its grip on JLR. In November, the company’s CFO PB Balaji will take over as CEO of Jaguar Land Rover.
