ChatGPT Traffic Down For First Time Since Launch
OpenAI, a well-known artificial intelligence company, has experienced a 10% drop in monthly traffic for ChatGPT chatbot users. From May to June, the number of unique users also decreased.
Analysts have recorded the first drop in ChatGPT traffic since launch. The decrease was recorded both on personal computers and on mobile devices.
In June, Similarweb recorded a 9.7% drop in traffic compared to the previous month. At the same time, the number of visitors decreased by 5.7%, and the duration of the sessions fell by 8.5%.
But the stats shown are for the site only, not for the bot’s proprietary app available for iPhone through the App Store (Android version still in development). Another source, analysts at Bank Of America, reported a decrease in the number of client downloads for iOS. According to them, in June, the number of downloads fell by as much as 38%.
Among the reasons, experts cite the disappearance of the novelty effect from AI and the emergence of other chatbots on the market. However, the number of visits to ChatGPT is still higher than that of the Bing site, in which this chatbot is embedded, and other analogues.
