Adobe Allows Itself Access To All Content Of Its Apps Users
Under the new rules, the company can access and review content created by users in Adobe applications through both automated and manual methods, and analyze that content using methods such as machine learning.
One of the first to notice this innovation was the artist Sam Santala, who expressed his indignation on the social network X. “I can’t use Photoshop unless I agree that you will have full access to everything I create with his help, including working under an NDA [non-disclosure agreement],” Santala wrote, asking Adobe for clarification.
If you review Adobe’s General User Agreement, you will see that it was last modified on February 17, 2024. The developer has adjusted sections 2.2 and 4.1, which clarify how the company can access user content and how this information is processed.
Following the media outcry, Jeremy Noguerre, director of product for the Substance 3D ecosystem, commented on the situation, saying that Adobe “does not access Substance user projects, does not read them in any form, and does not have any means to do so.” . However, the clause in the agreement contradicts Noguera’s statement.
