Meta Plans to Release Oakley Smart Glasses And Watches
Meta continues to develop its wearables business and, in addition to updating its popular Ray-Ban glasses, is preparing to release a new model of smart glasses under the Oakley brand for athletes, while simultaneously considering the possibility of creating watches and headphones with cameras that will be equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) functions.
According to the publication’s sources, the release of new premium glasses from Meta with a built-in display is expected in 2025. At the same time, the company is working on an augmented reality device, which it plans to present by 2027.
Currently, Meta already sells Ray-Ban smart glasses that can take photos, play music and receive calls, as well as analyze the environment. In the future, Ray-Ban glasses are planned to enter new markets and adapt to the technologies of other brands. The new version of the Supernova 2 glasses will be aimed at cyclists and will have a camera built into the center of the frame.
Meta is also testing different ways to control its devices. Among them is the Ceres bracelet, which will allow you to control the functions of the glasses and can be included as an accessory in the Hypernova glasses kit.
