Apple Planing To Make Its Devices Even Thinner
Last month, Apple introduced the iPad Pro with the M4 processor, which was the thinnest in the company’s history. The 13-inch model is only 5.1mm thick, which is even thinner than the iPod nano. Now Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that this is just the beginning.
According to him, the iPad Pro introduced this year is “the beginning of a new class of Apple devices.” The company’s goal is to make these products “the thinnest and lightest devices in their categories.” The report says that the iPhone 17 line will include a version of the smartphone with a completely new design, which will be significantly thinner than the current generation iPhone. He also noted that Apple is working on new versions of the MacBook Pro and Apple Watch, which will be thinner than the current generation models.
“I’m told that Apple is now focused on developing a significantly thinner smartphone that will be part of the iPhone 17 lineup in 2025. The company is also working to make the MacBook Pro and Apple Watch thinner. The latest iPad Pro is planned to be the start of a new class of Apple devices that are expected to be the thinnest and lightest products in their categories in the entire technology industry,” Gurman said in a statement.
Gurman previously reported that the company is preparing the Apple Watch X with a complete redesign. They will receive a thin case with magnetic strap mounts.
