End Of Nokia Era: HMD Global Abandons Once Popular Smartphone Brand

There will be no more Nokia smartphones and other gadgets; in the future, the manufacturer will produce them under its own name – HMD.  Existing models will be sold at discounts.

This news was announced by HMD along with a teaser of its future devices under its own name.

The new line of HMD-branded products will include smartphones, tablets and fully wireless (TWS) headphones. According to unconfirmed information, the company will present the first smartphones under the HMD brand at the MWC 2024 exhibition, which will be held in Barcelona from February 26 to 29.

The company says it plans to introduce new phones that are reliable, fun, secure, fast and affordable. Most of Nokia’s existing smartphones and tablets will be discounted until stock lasts. The original Nokia Corporation is still the world leader in networking equipment and the leading licensor of patents in mobile technology, with more than 6,000 patents required for 5G.

The company has been producing Nokia phones and smartphones since 2016 and 2017. The transition to our own brand was announced last year. Now the company does not give too many details and calls for monitoring developments.
