Grok Starts Working In Microsoft Office

On Tuesday, xA announced the launch of Grok as an add-on for Microsoft Outlook, bringing the power of artificial intelligence directly to users’ inboxes.
The extensions are available on the Microsoft
Marketplace platform. When installed, an AI assistant appears in the sidebar that can “search the web, update spreadsheets, or build powerful financial models.”
The plugins themselves are free, but require a subscription to the SuperGrok, Heavy, Business, and Enterprise plans; however, the level of integration with the AI assistant is not as deep as Microsoft Copilot.
Last year, Microsoft introduced Copilot for Excel, which allows you to invoke the assistant at the cell level. Grok performs actions in documents specified by the user in queries. When installing the plugin, the program warns that it “can read and edit your document, and send data over the internet,” after which a new button appears in the ribbon interface that opens the Grok panel.
Grok for Outlook became available on Tuesday to all paid subscribers of X and SuperGrok as an add-on for Microsoft 365 via the Microsoft Marketplace. xAI also announced that the tool is available for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
