Publisher Nacon and developers Cyanide Studio (Styx: Blades of Greed) have announced Warhammer Blood Bowl, an American football simulator set in the Warhammer fantasy universe.
The project is based on the latest official rules for the Blood Bowl tabletop game from Games Workshop. Players will control teams from various factions of the Warhammer universe—from elves and orcs to dwarves. Teams can be developed, customized, and used in online matches against other players.
The new version will add two additional factions—Tomb Kings and Bretonnians—bringing the total number of available teams to 26. The developers are also preparing a seasonal progression system and a competitive ecosystem with an annual world championship.
One of the main new features will be Rumble mode. It offers faster, more dynamic matches lasting approximately 30 minutes, with smaller teams and a compact board. At the same time, the game retains the tactical depth and signature brutality of the series.
Warhammer Blood Bowl will be released this spring for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store pages are not yet active), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S.
