During the Disney+ Originals presentation at Hong Kong Disneyland, Kojima Productions, in partnership with E&H Studios, announced the animated series Death Stranding Isolations. The announcement was accompanied only by the cover image, and a full trailer is still to be released. It was also noted that the title is a working title and may therefore change in the future.
Isolations will tell a new story set in the world of Death Stranding, unfolding parallel to the plot of the first game and focusing on different characters: a young man and a young woman whose destinies and hopes are intertwined.
“[The anime series] follows in the footsteps of the Death Stranding video game in spirit and ideas, depicting the world through bold and sophisticated, world-class, handcrafted animation,” reads the description of Death Stranding Isolations.
Death Stranding Isolations will premiere in 2027 exclusively on the Disney+ streaming service. However, it’s worth remembering that ABC Animation Studio’s animated film Death Stranding: Mosquito and A24’s live-action adaptation of Death Stranding are also in production.
