The Bounce 2 kids’ smartwatch went on sale in the US today. Priced at $300, it offers two-way communication, music downloads from Amazon Music, and voice control. The Bounce 2 now has a more mature look, but these design changes, coupled with minor improvements, are unlikely to justify the double price.
The Bounce 2 now features a round case instead of a square one and a 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, replacing the first-generation LCD panel. The watch retains its 5ATM water resistance and weighs 40.4 grams with the included silicone strap.

A key update is expanded communication functionality. Thanks to a built-in LTE module, the Bounce 2 supports two-way communication, allowing children to communicate with parents. The device also offers the ability to send voice messages with automatic transcription and real-time location tracking.
For music lovers, Garmin has integrated the Amazon Music app with the ability to download songs directly to the watch, which has 4GB of internal memory. Voice command support for controlling the device’s functions has also been added.

While the price of the watch itself has doubled, LTE connectivity still costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year with one of Garmin’s Kids Smartwatch plans.
